Governor Gavin Newsom has proposed devastating cuts to California’s Medi-Cal program. If enacted, hundreds of thousands of Californians would lose access to their health care.
More than 120 health care providers, labor organizations, religious institutions, and advocates across California are calling on the Governor and State Legislature to reject these dangerous cuts.

NEWSOM’S CUTS ARE EVEN WORSE THAN TRUMP’S: The Governor’s proposal could result in deeper Medi-Cal funding reductions than those currently being debated in Congress.
PEOPLE WILL LOSE CARE. SOME WILL DIE: These cuts threaten life-saving access to primary care, mental health services, medications, and emergency care.
IT WILL COST US MORE IN THE LONG-RUN: Short-term savings will lead to greater emergency care costs, preventable hospitalizations, job losses, and deepening workforce shortages.
